About

Asher McMahan is a interdisciplinary theorist and author. They write from a small apartment in Western Massachusetts, where the stunning nature, politically active community, and passion for local business inspire them to write through the question of identity in an unstable wider world. Asher’s essay “The Wounds of Jesus Christ: Chromatic Symbolism in Marguerite’s Mirror” was selected for publishing in Writing the World Magazine in 2024. They want readers to understand their reliance on established systems and the relationship that personal identity has with the greater global market and struggle of the working class.

When not working on one of many writing projects, Asher can be found shopping at local markets, browsing at the library, improvising on various instruments, watering their plants, foraging, baking, and bouncing ideas off of friends. Asher also posts serialised work, essays, articles, and more on their blog.
